The road to Tabgha, April 2014
We were driving in the direction of the Golan Heights towards Tabgha, when I saw a landscape that touched my heart very deeply, because it reminded me of our very own African Savannah land, where soft colours of subdued raw sienna and yellow ochre are spotted by the occasional green tree. Only here, the thorns were not hidden in the canopies of Acacia trees, they swayed blatantly in the open, in their alluring royal colours, laying their momentary claim to the land.
